HDR Photography Intro

1. What manipulations to the camera will you need to make to create an HDR image?

1. To create an HDR image, you must take multiple photographs with varying shutter speeds and aperture combos.
2. You'll need a camera, tripod, and HDR photo-blending software.
3. Many people like to take HDR photographs because of the outstanding beauty of them. HDR photographs transform reality into a high-def dreamscape. 
4. Once the images are merged, you can see more detail of a image or it can create a better photograph that is visually more eye-appealling to the viewer. HDR photographs also make the photograph look more like you were actually at the place the photograph was taken. It also helps with lighting and focus points. It overall allows you to produce the best photograph you can possibly take.

My Opinions Story

Painting a New Picture

     Art has allowed the most creative of people to express themselves in many different ways. Artists put heart and soul into their artwork. Art has started conversations based on a person's opinion and can start an uproar in social media occasionally. 

     In fashion, a creative quality is very useful and can make you more powerful as a fashion idol and earn you more fans. As a young artist, I enjoy seeing others work and hearing other artists opinions on any of my art. Art nowadays is a big thing on social media, many young artists are using social media as an outlet to show off any art pieces they have. Many Austin artists debate on certain art types on whether certain things can be considered art for example, graffiti. 

   Graffiti is seen as trashy and rebellious, many people disagree that graffiti is art and should be considered as art. I believe graffiti is its own type of art, it allows the artist to express emotion and character, many people think of it as a "hipster" or "rebel" type of art. Many supporters believe it is because it shows the person's creativeness, skill, and imagination. 

    Others also think it is because it allows a person power to have a voice and say something or show something they believe through art. Many people against graffiti believe it is vandalism and that it is rude/disrespectful to whom ever the place was vandalized. 

    Others also think it isn't art because it is vulgar and ugly to look at, they think it isn't enjoyable to look at or that it isn't really art, that it doesn't fit into the "art category". I believe art should be expressed no matter what form it may be, people should have the right to show what they have created or imagined. I think graffiti is just a different style of art, and is acceptable if it is in certain places, like if a place actually requests for it to have graffiti or a rundown/abandoned place.

   I think disrespecting a property of its "beauty" is unacceptable and is just rude, it's unasked for and rude. I think graffiti allows people to speak their mind but it should only be done in acceptable places.

Art is about expressing yourself and being you. It's about showing creativity, skill, imagination, technique, and a voice. Art should be shared with everyone, and it should be critiqued so that artist may improve them selves and become even better as a artist/person.

Express yourself may it be through a paintbrush, a pencil, or a mouth. Let all of your inner creativeness shine through and let it be "painted" into your life.

1. In a personal essay you have the freedom to think what you like on a subject, but your reader should go away with a good idea of why you feel that way.

Earthquake Story

An earthquake rocked the San Francisco Bay area Monday morning. The quake struck at 8:12 a.m. PDT

Twenty-one fire personnel, 12 police and five American Red Cross workers responded to the building collapse, with some arriving within four minutes of the quake.

Three of the six people injured were hurt seriously enough to require hospitalization and were transported to Hayward General Hospital, according to Vu. There wasn't any major injuries that were reported to police in Hayward.

"Names of the dead are being withheld pending notifications of families," Vu said.

The epicenter of the earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale, was under the Hayward Hills, according to Penny Gertz, a scientist from the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park. Gertz called the quake a “strong one” and said it occurred on the Hayward Fault, which runs under the hills.

"People as far south as Los Angeles and as far north as Redding felt the quake," Gertz says.

"A building housing McHenry’s Auto Supply at 2342 Plum St. partially collapsed, killing two people and injuring six other people." According to Jennifer Vu, a public information officer from the Hayward Fire Department.

Hayward firefighters used ropes to stabilize the auto supply shop, conducting a search of the building and capped a gas line after detecting a gas leak at the site.

Hayward resident, Mike Beamer, whose apartment is across the street from McHenry’s, says he felt a large rolling motion that lasted for about 30 seconds, with a big jolt coming in the middle of it. 

“I was eating my breakfast when the room started rolling. I dove under the table just as I heard an explosion outside and a chunk of cement flew through my kitchen window. That’s when the screaming start across the street," Beamer says.

Huntington Story

Janice Jones is 53 years old and lives in Barstow, California, according to California Highway Patrol press liaison Tammy Rye.

Jones’ dog, a Pomeranian named Tombo, was placed in the care of the Huntington Beach Animal Control officers. The dog seemed to be malnourished, according to Janet Ngo, one of the animal control officers, and had fresh cigarette burns on its forehead. 

“It could have done with a little less abuse and a few more of those pork chops,” Ngo says.

"Jones was eating pork chops in the back of her motor home," Rye said, which was parked on Beach Boulevard near Highway 1, when her dog knocked her 9 mm handgun off a seat.

The weapon discharged when it hit the floor, and the bullet passed through Jones; leg and through the side of the vehicle, according to Rye. 

“It could have been worse,” Rye says. “The bullet hit two inches from the gas tank.”

Jones was shot in the right leg around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Rye said.

"Jones was transported to Huntington Beach Hospital via ambulance and later was transported to Irvine Medical Center, Rye says."

Rye said officers cited Jones for expired plates and the county’s district attorney’s office was considering whether to charge her in relation to the gun accident.  

"Jones didn’t even have a permit for the gun," Rye said.

Ngo indicated that her office would explore filing animal abuse charges against Jones.

Student of the Month Story

Why- To interview Alexis Bobbitt and for her to answer to the school's curious minds
How-I asked 20 questions and had Bobbitt answer any to her own benefit, as she did so I wrote her answers down on a separate paper.


On March 29, 2016, Alexis Bobbitt was awarded "Student of the Month" at Bowie High School for her awesomeness and outstanding respect from everyone. Bowie awards her to show their love and respect for student, Alexis Bobbitt.

In in a recent interview, Bobbitt tells about how she will change the school for the "better".

Bobbitt explains why she thinks she was awarded.

"I think I won because of my awesomeness, of course. Who wouldn't choose me?"

The school awarded Bobbitt with this award to show appreciation to her and show that she was destined to earn this award.

"I thought of myself as most eligible, and yes, they all bow down to me." Bobbitt said.

The school hopes everyone knows that she won and has hung posters up to show their love for their new "Student of the Month".

"Honestly, I think this is a stupid award but now I have everyones respect." Bobbitt said.

Many students at Bowie talk about their new "Student of the Month" and discuss many theories they have about her. Fellow friends of Bobbitt stick up against any of Bobbitt's haters.

"Bobbitt is kind, funny, smart, and so pretty. I don't know why someone would ever have a grudge against her." Fellow friend, Caitlyn Smith says.

New "Student of the Month", Alexis Bobbitt brings and shares ice cream with all the school as appreciation to her award.

"Bobbitt has always been the coolest and funniest friend I've ever known. I think she defiantly deserved this award!" best friend of Bobbitt, Cerah Tlemmons said.

Bowie students wonder how Bobbitt will change due to this award and how the school will change.

"I will wear big ball gowns everyday with a queen crown. Everyone will respect me and if anyone is out of line I will whip them." Bobbitt said.

Many Bowie Parents are disappointed in their children and believe they should try better in school to possibly become the new "Student of the Month".

"When I told my parents that I had won "Student of the Month" they were very disappointed and said I need to focus more on getting food and finding a home, by the way, I'm homeless." Bobbitt said.
