Photograph 1

I see a vast desert with a lonely village. I see the moon and all the clouds escaping the open sky that is accompanied with a few stars. I see the colored sky vanishing from its canvas.

I smell the cold wind and the sandy desert sand. I smell the village's cooking and the ashy pieces from a nearby fire. I smell the spices of the village's crops.

I hear the swift wind hit the trees and bushes. I hear a coyote in the distant and hear his companions howl back. I hear happy laughs as villagers dance around an open camp fire.

I taste the sandy dirt beneath my feet and the fine cooking of the villagers all at once. I taste the cool water that I drink. I taste the crops the villagers offer to me, all are so fresh.

I feel the warm fire against my arms and legs as the cool wind fights against it. I feel the welcoming hugs from the kind villagers. I feel the warmth of my knit blanket around me.

I see the enormous mountains that seem to surround my ever turn. I see the spiky firs and the rough rocky walls all around me. I see excited campers coming and tired ones leaving.

I smell the earthy smell of the dirt beneath me. I smell the rusty smell of a nearby camp fire. I smell the fresh smell of the tall firs and the chalky dirt.

I hear the open wind whistle around the mountains vast curves and twists. I hear the laugh of nearby campers and the running of water. I hear the roar of moving wheels from faraway cars.

I taste the cold wind and the water that is savory. I taste the ashy camp fire and berries found on bushes along the trails I go down. I taste the dusty air that comes from the mountains.

I feel cold yet I am warm inside my winter coat, I feel the silence of the mountains. I feel the soft dirt beneath my shoes. I feel the sting of the freezing water as I cross streams to continue on my trail.

I think a way to show off or advertise my photographer could be a new blog or a small book with their most famous work. I think another idea would be making posters and put them around the school and choosing an interesting photograph to show the viewers. I think that I personally would like to make a small book to show my photographers best photographs and telling about the photographer so the reader learns about who the photographer was.

1. What theme, that we could take here at school, could we do a series of these panels to place around the school? 

I think a theme could be everyday lives, or maybe everyday lives of the school students. I think you can take pictures of a certain student and show their everyday life at school. If I chose a topic out of school I would probably chose the city because I really enjoy the city and all the kind people in it. I think these panels could go anywhere in the school or everywhere even, being a photographer you want to show your work as much as possibly I think.

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?

I think that we should use cameras because cameras have more ways to make your photograph more precise and clearer. I also think that cameras have better quality overall over phones. Cameras would not only produce higher quality photographs but they can also give you new ideas for photographs if you choose different angles.

3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?

I think I would put my mural in a widely seen area where a lot of people walk by or see because I would want to show my mural to be seen and shown off to the public eye. I would put it in an open area because then people can either enjoy it or not but then there would be a conversation, you can converse and express how you feel about it and I think thats true art/photography if you can start a conversation on your piece.

1. Challenges I faced when trying to take photos were bad angles, not enough interesting photos, and lighting. 

2. The thing I made sure to do or fix in all my photos was focus because, I think the key to a good photograph is it being in focus.

3. I would keep a lookout and search more for more interesting photographs. 

4. Some things I do the same is keeping the photographs mainly of one person or focusing on one person in particular.

5. The easiest rule I think to accomplish would be simplicity because you can mainly just focus on one person and keep a simple background.

6. I think one of the hardest rules to accomplish would either be rule of thirds or balance because it is a hard rule to find. 

7. I think the rule I have trouble with is Balance still because I still don't really know what that rule looks like and how to accomplish it.

The Girl painting

I think this photo's rule is simplicity because the photograph mainly focuses on what I photographed and doesn't focus a lot on the background of the photograph. The subject of the photo is the girl painting that is also listening to music. I believe the subject of the photograph is very clear because there isn't anything to distracting in the background and focuses on the girl painting. I think if I changed anything it would be the angle of the photograph to show the subject's artwork.

I think the photo's rule is the rule of thirds because the main subject is the girl who was painted and she has space to look and she is in the lower left corner. The subject of the photograph is the painted girl. I believe the subject is kind of clear because there is two girls so the reader might have a hard time telling what the subject is. I think if I had changed anything it would be the angle and change the subject to the real girl and not painted one.

I think the photo's rule is Simplicity because the background is very simple and not full of color. The subject is the boy drawing. I believe the subject is easily recognizable because the background is the ground and there is not a lot to look at. I think if I changed anything it would be a more interesting angle maybe right in front of the person and below them or from the side.

A body part you relate aperture to is your eyes because your pupils can zoom in or out( get larger or smaller) and it all because of how much light is reflected in your eye just like a camera lens. The smaller the Aperture the larger the area to focus on (depth of field), the higher the Aperture the smaller the area in focus (depth of field).  The higher the aperture the higher the focus of the photograph's background and the smaller the aperture the less amount of focus there is in the photograph's background.

1. f, because it'd show direction of the movement and show what way the basketball was going.

e, because it would show movement and what way a person is going.

2. Three shutters settings that you can choose are Shutter Priority Mode, Manual Mode and Auto Mode. Shutter Priority Mode is when you set the Shutter Speed and your camera automatically sets the Aperture. Manual Mode is when you set the Shutter Speed and Aperture manually. Auto Mode is when the camera selects both the Shutter Speed and Aperture.

ISO

1. Advantages of using a higher ISO at a sports event is that it captures the photographs better than a lower ISO were the photograph most likely will be out of focus or grainy. 

2. Suggestions the author made for when using low ISO is to use in dim/ dark places and to slower moving objects it creates higher quality photographs unlike a high ISO that would make the photograph grainy.

3. Suggestions the author made for when using high ISO is to use in bright places or with fast-moving objects.

Part 1

        I think that Rhum's work is interesting and makes me think that there is a earthquake. The photo looks as if it is in motion. I think that Rhum took multiple pictures of this photograph but he took each at different angles and merged them all together.

        I think if I did photographs like this I would do the Texas State Capitol Building or the Frost Bank. I would choose these builds because they are well known by most people who live in Austin, Tx. The Texas State Capitol Building and Frost Bank are both located downtown Austin.

If I were to choose these buildings I think I would have easy access because they are both in a populated environment and the Capitol is visited daily by secretaries, lawyers, and tourists. The Frost Bank would probably have easy access as well because it is in an area downtown were you can walk by it with ease and not worry about security guards or police.

This is my favorite photo by Christian Rhum because it has a lot of movement and the picture makes me think there is an earthquake or some shaking movement. I also like the color in this photograph and that there is more than just a building "moving" like his other photographs.

3 things I think photographers should always remember to do is:

The first thing is find good lighting, some photographs can be good but then the scene is too dark, always make sure your photograph is well lit.

Another thing photographers should always remember is to seek out new angles, take the same photograph from different angles. 

The third thing for photographers to remember is, if you are taking a portrait of a person make sure to have the person show emotion. Emotion can show the type of scene you are trying to create and the viewer can easily understand the topic of emotion. (ex. happy, sad, mad, etc)

I think the photograph did because the photograph shows meaning to them. This photograph shows the mother and child(on left), the photo is important to the mother because it is the first photograph (most likely) of her and her child. The photograph on the right shows the mother, father, and child, and I think it shows meaning to it as well because it was important to remember the first memory with their child.

I think a painting that would influence me would this one (painting below) because it shows emotion and it looks like the people in the painting are quiet and that it is very calm were they are. I think this painting would influence me to find those quiet moments and capture them to create a bigger meaning.
